ATT Hall of Fame Invitational Promises To Be One To RememberPublished by
Fall may have just begun, but The Armory already has big plans for this winter with the addition of the AT&T Hall of Fame Invitational to the facility’s growing schedule of events. Taking place on December 19, the The AT&T Hall of Fame Invitational is expected to draw over 3,000 competitors from high schools across the Northeast. Athletes will compete in varsity, frosh/soph, small and large school divisions. Schools with less than 525 boys or girls in grades 9-11 will compete in the small schools division. Each athlete will be allowed to compete in three events and there will be no limit on the number of team entries per event. The Winner of the AT&T Hall of Fame Invitational boys and girls miles will receive an invitation to the NYRR Millrose Games High School mile if they have broken 4:20/5:00 at some point in their career as of 1/24/16. Otherwise those invitations become “at large” bids. In addition to the great competition, this year’s AT&T Hall of Fame Invitational will serve as an induction ceremony for the eight coaches below into the Armory Coaches Hall of Fame:
Joe Biddy Suffern (NY) Steve Borbet Bay Shore (NY) Andy Capellan New Rochelle (NY) Shaun Dietz Medgar Evers (NY) Mike Glynn Ridgewood (NJ) Art Kranick Saratoga Springs (NY) Linda Kranick Saratoga Springs (NY) Nicola Martial Medgar Evers (NY)
This year’s inductees will be the first to join the Armory Coaches Hall of Fame in six years. The Armory will be inducting 3-4 coaches in the coming years. The meet will also feature the unveiling of a brand new Armory Coaches Hall of Fame display and launch of our new field event results displays system, which consists of double-sided, live result scoreboards at each field event. Meet entry is available on the AT&T Hall of Fame Invitational meet page.
